War Songs Are Da Bomb?
Viet Nam News has written an article called “Forget Hip-hop, War Songs Are Da Bomb.” I know the author tries to be down, but the slang being used here is inappropriate. War songs aren’t “da bomb.” They contain serious contents.
I found the article to be a bit strange, honestly. It was as though 2 people with different attitudes wrote the article and the title, respectively. Knowing the sorts of song choices of most new singers when they sing live, I’d have to say that their song choices for the competition were more of a matter of trying to impress the judges than demonstrating any new trends about what genre the newest singers value.
Actually, further comment: Its a pitty people overseas can’t see/hear what singers sing in live performances. It usually is completely different from the songs on the albums and on TV because they are not bound by as many rules and regulations when they sing live. Performances range from vulgar to extremely deep and moving (with amazing candidness) to so trite you want to puke. You also get more American and French songs too. It all depends on setting, circumstand and who is in the audience.
