Don Ho On VNCR
An informal interview (part 1, 2 & 3) with Don Ho conducted by Hoang Trong Thuy. Still the down-to-earth guy. Good luck with the new album and the new production.
My favorite tune and video “Trai Tim Mua Dong.” It brings back the good old days.
My my…….poor thing!
Donny có “Tình Lãnh Cãm” bây giờ lại có “Trái Tim Mùa Đông”. Chắc Donny mới bị thất tình rồi đây?
Donster doesn’t have any “tinh” in the first place. He lives vacariously through others. Last week I caught Donny rockin to Trish’s “Big Big World” song. Sometimes I wonder about this mofo…
PS. Don Ho thinks he’s Elton John. Pass it on!
Thanks for posting the interview of Don Ho. From the midwest,I have no connection with the Vietnamese cultural and artistic life of Little Saigon. I used to see Little Saigon like from another planet. Here, in this video clip, I have the chance to see, hear and touch the soul of the real man without his on-stage make-up. Beautiful interview. Here, in Chicago, the hot tickets are from the cool Chicago Symphony orchestra or Lyric Opera of Chicago. and the beautiful moments in life (from a Midwest high style) are the ecstatic time when listenting to the Vienna Symphony Orchestra (for the first time) at the Musicverein, when listening to the human voice celebrating love, lamenting life, expresing passion, showing sexual desire, sadness, etc at the Bastille opera or the Vienna Operahaus. However, even coming from a different style of music or a different level of performance, the Vietnamese music with its talented (and kid) singers (compared with the classical music singers) brings me back to the sweet childhood or teenage memories. I love Don Ho in his passionate voice for life, for love and for uncertainty.
Thank again for the beautiful posting.
PS. One day I will write comment about Tran Thai Hoa. One thing important: We cannot appreciate all the minute beauties of music if we listen it from the internet. The quality is bad.
