Asia 51 – Tinh Khuc Sau Cuoc Chien
As I am reading a review on Asia 51: Tinh Khuc Sau Cuoc Chien written by Viet Hai, I am wondering if Asia productions had paid him to pen it or he is just up in their ass. In the intro, he stated that Asia have stepped up their game after their last big-bang show on Tran Thien Thanh. Give me a break. Asia folks are not only stepping in the same place, but they are also taking a leap backward with the latest release. The theme, Tinh Khuc Sau Cuoc Chien, they came up was just to give them a reason to squeeze more cash out of old tunes.
The music arrangements in this video don’t sound any better than what they had done before, and the pairing up of singers makes absolutely no sense at all. Don Ho with chinky Barbie? She’s not even cute, and her sissy, ditsy voice is still annoying. Le Thu and Da Nhat Yen is like a before and after diet commercial. Le Thu is what you look like before, and Da Nhat Yen is what you will look like after. Before, you’re fat but you can sing. After, you’re loosing weight as well as voice. The good part is that DNY still got the groove. What the hell is up with Lam Thuy Van, posing like she’s ready to be boned? Who wants to bone that gladiator anyway? The mash-up between her and Ngoc Lan is horrendous. Asia musical producers have been using that technique a bit too much. Then they have seven sexless guys trying to be sexy (suit jacket without under shirt) on “Anh Van Biet.” Get the fuck out the here. And don’t you want to pull that dog-haired wig off Kim Anh’s head? I thought Doanh Doanh was bad, she is even worse: old, plastic-molded Barbie.
Speaking of old women, why don’t they act their age? Hearing the way Thanh Lan talks and laughs just ruined the strong-minded image I had for her on the previous opening video. Mama, you ain’t 16 no more. The same goes with Thao My. Not sure what she’s showing because she got none. Please cover them up, forty-year-old breasts are for your man, not the public. I have enough of Mai Le Huyen trying to get her move on. Does she need a dickslap in order for her to stand still or something? Is Asia blind or they are being dumb? I love the way Y Phuong starts off “Tra No Tinh Xa” with a bluesy feel until MLH comes in and fucks it all up with her screaming. By the time the arrangement is all rocked up, Y Phuong’s strong vocals can’t even save the track. Nothing but excessive noise filled up the stage.
The solo pieces are disappointing as well. Nguyen Khang’s rendition of “Rong Reu” is nothing invigorating. In fact, it has some of Tuan Ngoc’s resemblances. Particularly when he glides into the offbeat technique, something even Tuan Ngoc couldn’t pull off. (If you listen to Tuan Ngoc’s version of “Rong Reu,” “Ban Tinh Cuoi,” and “Bien Nho,” you’ll see how he attempts to sing the off-key style. Not sure if it is because of our Vietnamese language, but it doesn’t sound right. The only person who could sing off key and sound natural is Billie Holiday. Her timing had always been perfect.) Back to solo performers, is Bang Tam faking or what? She’s weeping out with water running down her noise, and she didn’t even wipe it. If you want to make the audience feels emotional, you have to convey it through your voice not necessarily your face—unless you’re an actor not singer. In “Cai Co,” I hear nothing in her voice because she sings the entire song with one tone, and yet she’s all cried out. The facial expression doesn’t go with the musical expression at all. Even if she has cried for real, she still looks phony to me.
The theme for Asia 51 is to embrace “golden music.” I have no problem with music of Ngo Thuy Mien, Tran Quang Nam, Nguyen Trung Cang, and Duc Huy being called “nhac vang” after the war. But when they profiled Trish’s music in this category, and called Cardin’s shit as music of our future, we have a big fucking problem. (And let me not get into that little midget with the “Viet Pride” tagged on his jacket. How lame is that?)
hahahhahahahaahaahah
let me laugh first… then i’ll write a proper comment later…
donny this is ur funniest piece yet….hahhahaahaahhahahaha
And I dislike the idea of having 2 singers (2 generations) sing in a song. How can they sell these CD’s out with incomparable voices in each song?! Nghe cha’n tha^’y mo^`!
Also, it is Nguyen Trung CanG.
The performance of Vu~ Khanh was the best of all.
Hi, how’s about the first song by Ngoc Ha and two male singers?
Most of the Viet music productions are lame period.
I couldn’t agree with Donny more about older Viet woman acting like a teenage virgin ( long virgin hair and make up acting naive..ie.. ) I cann’t bear to watch them !
Got to give you alot of credit
for reviewing it Donny!
By the way, I think Asia only needs 1 or 2 MC’s. Why 5, why 11? How can they let Thien Kim host the show? Tha` bi`nh bi`nh nhu* Nam Loc host by himself cung khong sao…
LOL…ahh anh Donny, you sounded so pissed, what gives…give them a break, it’s entertainment, after all…I love Don Ho the best in this DVD
I agreed with you about Cardin and his music. He never opens his mouth when he sings…
I’m glad I’m over 18, too much swearing :)
Yah Donny, I dun have time to watch these videos and knowin they’re just repeat the old stuff. Usually I saw at relative or friend’s house since someone’s watchin at the time.
Sorry that ya got pissed off by ‘em. But man…ya language dude…you go boy!….lolz
I’m going to have to disagree about your comment about older women. I think its great that older people can be young at heart. She acted just the same way in ASIA 50 if you hadn’t noticed.
Madonna prances around in a leotard and everyone thinks it grand and great, but Khanh Ha or Y Lan show a bit of cleavage and we tell them to retire cause its disgusting? Unfair.
I agree with Donny’s views on Asia regurgitating old music and not be innovative enough to have singers perform new songs.
Also, I’m very sceptical about the pairings of older singers and younger ones. They just seem out of sync and do not have any emotional connection.
I also totally agree with comment #7. The number of hosts just boggles the mind. There seems to be a lack of cohesion and continuity for the viewers. Why don’t they just take turn ie. 2 hosts per show?
haha
dude, your hilarious!!!
and yes.. if Cardin and Trish’s crap is music of the future, then we really have a problem!!!

So when he critized Thuy Nga, you guys didn’t say anything but when he dare to critize Asia, Thuy Nga is paying him? Oh geez
#14, you’re full of brainless excrement. your thoughts are dry as rocks. i aint’t buying your constructive criticism of don’s writing. stay fired-up, donny boy. i find your comments fresh, witty and sharp.
‘anti-donny’ anything must be disconcerting to you, d
but if we’re going to label donny, at least make it sound cool…
“dirt’s got a name and it’s donny”
something like that.
I totally agree with you. I could not stand those women acting like teenagers. It’s very gross! They look funny, ugly, and STUPID!
“Donny Fan,” if you claim to be his fan, you must know his style by now. Reread some of the Paris By Night posts, dude.

It’s very interesting to read two opposite reactions to my tone. One thinks it’s funny while the other think I am mad or upset. I have to go with the former, becuase I am not pissed at all. Like Tran said, if you look back at the earlier posts, the language has always been there. So there should be no surprises. Besides, I only write alot when I feel good. Believe me, my life offline is better than ever, which inspired me to speak my mind. Even though this is a public domain, it is still my personal blog. Readers can take it or leave it. Don’t expect me to throw you some bacons just because you’re Donny’s fan. I ain’t here to gain fans or to be your favorite blogger.
Just watched the video. Seeing the english term “golden hits” for “nhac vang” at the end of the video surprises me. “Va`ng” here is not for gold but “va`ng vo.t”, u?y mi., yeu duoi, etc. As I wrote in the prev post (not political but for historical fact only), the term created by the North Vnmese to label South Vnmese “nhac tinh cam” during the VN war, as opposite to their mostly “nhac hu`ng, chien da^’u”.
Asia has made a lot of young people confused.
Anyway, I’m very disappoited with this video. Agree with most of donny’s comment.
Donny, your “tone” is fine. I don’t want bacons from you, I take eggs anytime :)
Donny,
Hahaha… although I have a baby at home so can’t read out loud this “rated R” comment … but I got to say “you’re funny, dude”!
I didn’t watch the entire DVD yet, too busy lately, but for some reason, I’m getting bored w/ the match up between the old generation & the young generation thing. Yeah, the first time they did it, it was innovative, but come on, after that, the trick became old & some of the match up were so irritating to the ears! Just my 2 cents. :-)
Oh, tpn wants eggs and I want “sunny side up” egg with pepper & salt, no scramble plz! hahaha… Me, no bacons either. ;-)
Come on people, eggs without bacons is like banh beo without nuoc mam :)
I totally enjoyed reading this review, Donny!
I usually don’t watch these kind of music videos unless I want to see how trashy some of the young singers look these days or how the elders’ plastic surgeries turn out. That’s my form of entertainment from these productions, not the quality of their shows/performances if they have any.
Over all, I think these productions aim to please too many people, which is understandable, because there is a big gap between the older generation who tend to cling onto the oldies and the young ones who are so much of the MTV generation. However, these productions lacks a broaden/wider vision because I believe that what they show on their shows are reflective of the Vietnamese community in California, too much of that superficial “Hollywood” and “Beverly Hills” facadé being incorporated into these shows. The future of Vietnamese-American music is in dire need of renovation; they cannot use and reuse songs that have been performed by so many people. For the lack of a better analogy, these songs are like “whores” on the streets…they walk around and let people abuse their core essences and dignities. Gradually, the songs become boring and repetitive…and viewers/listeners develop that phobias upon hearing them again as if like they have contracted with some kind of venereal diseases. At least, that is how I feel towards these productions and their crimes for abusing these songs to death.
My 2 cents.
Well written MsNguyen! I agree with you. And Tannie mentioned how KHANH HA and YLAN dressing young and sexy for their age but I have disagree with Tannie because these two DIVAs knows how to dress and they carry themselves very well while Thanh Lan and others are acting very corny, “nha que”? and stupid! Their make ups are outdated. What’s wrong with aging gracefully?
Thu Hoai, I would have to disagree with you this time. Khanh Ha & Y Lan do dress ridiculous and act foolish at times too. Call me picky but I judge them on each individual performance of theirs, and in this case, we’re talking fashion sense. Not everything they do is great once dubbed with the “diva” label, you know. Y Lan is more of a risk-taker and fares better with her occasional sharp knack for rich, creative workmanship with the help of her extra height but Khanh Ha, oy, I really wish my former mommy-in-music knows how to elongate her body lines better. The vertically-challenged woman has no concept of optical effect whatsoever. Focus on shape/contour and utilize ultraluxe contrasts of fabric texture the right way, mama. You’ve got the green for that. By the way, “curve” is defined by contrast in relative coordination of both your chest & your waist curvature. Work the fat off of your tummy instead of gagging the girls with silicone.
I know what you mean Miyo, what I mean is that I prefer to see the two ladies, KH and YL fashions ( I agree that half of the time, they show some horrible taste in fashions) over the other older women trying to capture
the “nu sinh” “ngay tho” look with their long straight black hair and “chop chop con mat” you know what I mean !
BTW, Miyo, you also have excellent fashions sense!
KH also tend to wear too much make up, jewerly, earings etc.. She should be more simplistic due to her petite size and just work with one monochromatic color to achieve an elongate illusion.
Okay a longer post, bare with me gents and ladies.
I really hate how because the VC defined the music as “weak” and “uy mi” that some think that ASIA is wrong by referring to these same songs as “gold”. Would the people who wrote these songs agree with the VC label? I hope fucking not. I’m going to have to take ASIA’s side on this one. I’m not letting the VC deligate what is art or not. I also think its funny that this supposed lower class music is what the VN singers try to record in their albums now (DVH and his terrible recording of Da Lat Hoang Hon for example).
I thought the program itself was really well thought out and cohesive (besides the segments on Trish and Cardin). The first Lien Khuc was really thought out well and flowed lyrically like the transition of Saigon. I really felt the pain described my Ngo Thuy Mien of seeing his art littered on the streets. You learned about songwriters who wrote from their hearts and couldn’t release their works publicly. And of the works produced stateside still speaking to those still residing in Vietnam. Isn’t this the time when Tuan Vu, Ngoc Lan, Kim Anh, Huong Lan, Khanh Ha got really popular? I still have my copies of Paris By Night 1-5 my favorite PBN’s ever.
As far as the performances themselves, I thought most of them were really good- of course there are a few exceptions. Trish really doesn’t bring anything new, but her music isn’t my style anyways. Cardin can’t sing, and ASIA4 really bring down ASIA’s music integrity. But its unfair to the otehr artists to judge the whole DVD just on those poor showings.
Diem Lien and Thanh Lan (even if you don’t like her persona) sang just as well if not better then the versions from Y Lan and Khanh Ha. Mai Le Huyen brought some fun into Tra No Tinh Xa, but man Y Phuong’s vocals are freakin amazing on that track. Vu Khanh was stellar on “Anh Biet Em Di Chang Tro Ve”- his signature song. “Rong Reu”, “Noi Voi Toi Mot Loi” and a few others are pretty good as well. And the rest aren’t half bad.
ASIA doesn’t bring anything new in terms of arrangements, but nothing here is terrible, it all sounds great. I’ve always thought that they are the top tier of music arrangements so I think its hard to improve on that. but anyways…
Donny is sure entitled to his opinion. But most of his opinion from what I read deals alot with things that aren’t music related. Diet Coke, Thanh Lan acting young in interview, guys with blazers with no shirts, the dog on Kim Anh’s head, LTV as a gladiator (shes pregnant btw, cut her some slack)… Although he does have some points with the poor vocal mixing in Mua Tren Bien Vang (you can tell when someone pressed the on off button witht he karaoke machine), what Donny describes as terribly bad, isn’t too bad at all. Rong Reu from Nguyen Khang isn’t that bad for instance.
As far as the rest of these replies, I think people are taking out their frustrations with Vietnamese Hai Ngoai music productions as whole on this particular DVD. And to be honest, even though these are old tried and true songs, the DVD itself is very different from what is out there today (I’m talkin about the Tinh’s, Van Son’s and Eagles’ sometiems Thuy Nga as well). I’m all for the preservation of our distinct VN music especially in the wake of our popular music becoming lyrics to J-Pop and Kpop songs.
BTW, To Van Lai needs to take a lesson from the head guy of May Productions on how to speak to the audience about the issue of Piracy. Not beaing able to serve the Vietnamese community and doing what they love with music is going to appeal to hearts of the buying public rather than quoting the bible. Just my thoughts.
Thu Hoai, now you’re talking sista ! :)
Damn! Tannie is on fire. You go boy :)
donny, I like your article. I haven’t seen the DVD and probably won’t unless it plays in front of me by accident, but reading your criticism is good fun and a comic relief. It seems your writing is more rigorous in pieces like this, so opine on.
Of course Tan, Asia can’t never do any wrong by you.
i’m just on fiyah bitches! lol. well no, ASIA has wronged me with ASIA4 and DNY has wronged me by singing tango as if it were a pop song.
… and on how fabric drapes over a female body, I’d like to hear more from Miyo
Yes, I agree, Miyo..come out and talk fashions to us. I am into the minimalist look .. I love the look of the singer SADE. .. The one who sing “smooth operator” I used to sing this song, this was my trade mark song along with “Unchained melody” years ago. I still love that SADE look, hair pulled back with the big hoop earings… black and cream bias cut is the color choice for me.. what else would work to make a petite gal look longer without relying on the 6 inch heel that I wear on stage? I like to reduce the heel to 3 inch in my old age to prevent back pain. Any suggestions? :)
Oh, … fashion? Uh, Kate Moss is all over Vanity Fair. She’s on the cover wearing a Mongolian fur hat, inside posing as Marlene Dietrich editorially, suddenly baring her breast (so real, so non-silicone!). And the ads, right inside the cover baring breast again, this time with a shirtless male (Calvin Klein). Three pages later she’s there holding up two huge Louis Vuitton brown bags, then it’s Dior’s turn in a spread, her slightly wall-eyes looking (both, amazingly) at you tenderly. Continuing some pages later David Yurman has her on a fur bed wearing nothing but his jewelry, her rump two well-formed hills, naked but so beautiful it’s sexless purity. How do you wrap her up in texture Miyo? And with her bow legs (not shown in this issue) how high a heel would you fit her with Thu Hoai? I just wish Richard Avedon was still living we would have a ball dressing her up with a serpent a la Nastassja Kinski early 1980s
Yeah Kate Moss sure is beautiful in her birthday suite in a naked sexless purity yeah that’s a good
way to describe her..
Small real non-silicon breasts
are the best kind !
Tan, A Puritan talking Fashion “you never cease to amaze me, tan.” I borrow a line from B.w.a.A :)
at least the skit is funny haha XD
Hahaha, most bloggers here don’t buy Vietnamese productions so it explains why those type of videos still made money since most fans and buyers don’t think so.
please! let people live their life! you shouldn’t watch this DVD, if you think it’s bad! I can’t let you writting these things about Thanh Lan! I know you are a big fan of Ngoc Lan, and I think you would be desappoited if I was so irrespectfully with her!
Thanh Lan has the age of your mother, do I make a mistake?, so do you dare speak so irrespectfully to your mother? Thanh Lan knew many difficulties in her life, so I think she has the right to be so “young”.
It’s just business!
TM a Thanh Lan’s fan, so much as you are a Ngoc Lan’s fan!
Hi TM, you are Thanh Lan’s fan too? I love Thanh Lan when she was young and she was my idol. Do you know if she has web page that we can give her opinion? I don’t like the way she acts or sometimes dresses like a teenager any way. I hope that she acts young but not too young (e le^. va` thuy` mi. like a young girl just grows up). She looks young and pretty so no need to act like a child. I like her and I would want to continue to be her fan.
Can you picture Thanh Lan without the nose job?
Hey Donny,
I dont know what’s the matter with you and these people whose just backing you like they backing into a blond bombshell’s ass. Anywayz….Yeah its subjective, music that is, and that everyone, including you, me n everyone else here, to voice up their opinion but sometimes you over do it. Well there are some not so great or new tricks but if you put yourself in people’s shoes then you would understand more.
First of all, there’s not that many talented writers anymore, that’s why they have to say Cardin is the future (sadly but kinda true).
Secondly, there’s not that many gifted new singers, only a few and Asia does tend to do pretty well in selections.
And honestly, have you seen any better quality else where in the last 2 years? Not Paris by Night, they suck now, Not Van Son and esp not some sleezy-cheap-instant-noodle-jazzy-mixing-rock nroll-karaoke singers n musicians in Vietnam who tends to scream better than sings, and nhay da^y better than nhay? nhot’.
And why you dont give credit for those songs n arrangements like the May Lang Thang song of Nini & Anh Minh & Vina, Anh Minh was great. The first song by Ngoc Ha, n Lam Nhat Tien was great….hes back to his old form. The kich. is even ok this time. And how about they put the time to go out there n does researchings that helps us know mroe about the history n currently where abouts of writers n more…?
Give them credit n please stop advertising for them singers in VN.
N By the way, Lam Thuy Van was great too, just not as great as Ngoc Lan. So was Phuong Thao n Ngoc Le.
Hey Tannie,
You are a true music fan, and a fair one too. Well good music and good products are always welcome but people need to realize that it takes tremendous efforts to spice up new things all the time.
Just wondering do you like Tuan Ngoc, the old Khanh Ha, and Khanh Ly, and those older singers?? Just a thought.
The dvd is worth a penny. Old songs, sound quality is not great either.
How many Asia’s singers can sing?
Lets see…mmmm…definately not the young generation which includes trish, cardin, thuy huong, da nhat yen, asia 4 and the chinese wannabe girl. Those that hire these singers need a hearing check.
Do you know where to download this DVD?
I agree with Tannie and Langtula regarding their comments. Asia DVD 51 has some great performances – Ngoc Ha, DNY, Nguyen Khang, Anh Minh-Nini-Uyen Mi, Phuong Thao-Ngoc Le, Y phung, Y Phuong, Don Ho, Thien Kim,skit from Hong Dao& Quang Minh ect..
This video is by far a meaningful collective DVD compare to any video from other productions.
Look at the videos from Thuy Nga lately – very cheaply and low-classly made.
I don’t read a whole lot on this site, but I respect the owner’s viewpoint. I always thought his comments are quite good. The “Bonjour vietnam” flash earlier this year showed that he has good taste. Until now. When I read his Asia 51 “review”, I frankly so disappointing.
I watched the Asia 51 video I bought in Little Saigon yesterday and my family watched the entire length. i think it’s quite good! The stage is as good as TN Paris, if not better. Some of the performances are quite good, especially Thanh Tuyen’s.
Just my two cents.
that’s one great review (Y).
This DVD was so tired even Donny, cousin of Truc Ho could not represent. How sad for Asia and their fans?
hey!you are all shit!asia is cool!the best singers are thuy huong, anh minh, doanh daonh and of course CARDIN!!!
I think Khanh Ha and Y Lan look noble in their age because they dress elegantly mature . Women don’t have to dress like a teenager to look sexy. On the contrary, they are more appealing when they dress their age (with a sense of style, of course). Thanh Lan looks tacky because she dresses “young”. Poor taste. And she hasn’t been able to get rid of the “naive girl” facial expression. Poor thing.
Donny,
loved your review, just not agree somes of them but still liked to read what was on your mind ….
First of all, I think the DVD was really good, except for Trish Thuy Trang and the dude used to be in the Asia 4, Cardin or however his name is spelled. Trish TT, her songs are always like the trance type. Cardin, not a fan. Those two just messed up the whole theme. Also, secondly, I felt that the songs were great and meaningful lyrics. I have no complaints about it, whatsoever. I’m 23 years old and I am proudly say that I love every song in that DVD.
Please take note! Singer who tries to sing “off key” is not called “off-key” unless it’s literally “off-key”.
What a singer’s trying to do is sing the “harmony part”, instead of the singing main the melody. Some will sing harmony for the whole sentence, some just sing 1 to few words (last word of the sentence for ex). Some can weave in and out of harmony and main melody expertedly, some can’t. But to do this kind of singing is risky. People who would n’t understand what’s going on and will think he/she is off-key. I watched Journey band dvd last night, and Steve Perry did it with few songs for few notes. In live setting, some singer does that harmony part to save the voice and add color, or to express, or to show off their ability. I can’t pull that off (lol) so I just stick to the “main” thing and even that is “risky enough”
What bothers most me as a back up musician was some singer sang the entire song off-key (literally), and off only 1/10 of a note, and it makes the entire band sounded as if their instruments out of tune (except the drums). It happened to my band few times in the past
I definately agree with comment#26.
I usually stumble across the show when i visit my relatives because I don’t watch these kind of shows and i don’t support them in any way. It’s all about flaunting their bodies and their plastic faces. (not to mention some of them are air headed as well). Most of the time they do remake from the “original” artist…now where’s the real talent of writing their own lyrics?
its his idea, i agree with u about Mai Le Huyen dude, shes suk, and trying to be a teenager and never make it, wat an idiot. But about u said DNY im disagree …..
Asia Production has become a second class music production a long time ago, on the same level with Van Son production. At least Van Son is funnier than Asia. Many of Asia singers these days are so bad , it’s pitiful. I personally think the Tran Thien Thanh music DVD blows. it’s just bad. I love TTT music but this DVD disappoints me. Imo, Asia starts to suck after their first Da Vu Quoc Te out a long time ago. That is easily their best ever.
Not to mention their scores of MCs. Trinh Hoi has to go !! He is so “nha que”. ok off my soapbox now.
oh forgot one thing: Trish is the worst singer ever !! and to mention freaking ugly.. ok she looks slightly better after the knife job but still a bad singer.
that is all :-)
Ric, u bash the TTT DVD? It was a great one, i dont know about u, but a young college student like me could relate to all the stories and the songs. It was a great DVD, stop hating. paris by night is getting worse n worse, but Asia is doing great.

Donny, how old are you? The voices you criticise Asia are so acid and angry, your sound like a man who is bitter after lost all your money at the casino and your old wife also left you for another man. You should go to learn the fine arts of criticise others to make your life lighter.
What did you do for the VN music industry, except these reckless criticisms!
If you have ability then, organise a CHEAP music show like Asia, that is the best way to prove your ability. If you can only criticise others irresponsibly like what you did now, it prove you are untalented ho ho
A fair person
I’m not a big fan of Asia…but I really like Cardin, Trish, n Asia 4!!…I just cant get enough of the song anh van biet…i wish they would had just let asia 4 sing that song by themselves…about the host-i really dont watch them but i like chan hoi (sorry if spell wrong)…other are ok too, but if just only have nam loc…it gonna get boring…n asia dont need to get any boreder!!…lol…those old ladies are just trying too hard to be young…when i saw kim anh’s hair i just 2 questions in mind…DOES SHE OWN A MIRROR?? N IS SHE OUT OF HER MIND??…i cant believe they let her go on stage like that…i like the part of Da Nhat Yen dancing, but not a fan of Le Thu…asia need to come up wit something new rather then war music n old songs!!…they need to do something to keep up wit van son n thuy nga…n wat up wit tinh??..the lastest one suck!!
Langtula,
I am not hating, just stating the fact: Asia sucks. PBN ain’t great by any mean but they are better than Asia.
TTT music is great but the DVD about TTT just didn’t have it.
Yeah Asia is doing great by leg-humping the HO community is little saigon for the past several years(by dressing their singers in military clothing, for example) in order to sell their music are getting old.
Just the fact, Jack.
Fair Person on 12/13/06 lives to his/her name. The so-called artistic criticisms offered on this blog actually reflect the sad side of our Viet-Am community. We bring our good features, but also in a free environment to speak up we also bring our bad features as a people and a culture. One looks to an informed critique, not just gratification from abusive language to create controversy and reactions….That is abusive media.
I’m sure many are learning about themselves, their bad and their good…and some choose to do good and better each day…and some are just stuck in the gutter.
Thank you for those who are fair-minded and offer worthwhile commentary on blog.

Trish is a sweet girl…those who follow her know her private pain and artistic vision. Her orphan look is real–she lost her mother. She sings in her own style and has a following, including those who are into anime style. So bash her thoughtfully when you do.
I agree, she’s beautiful and she sing soooooo GOOD
Give me a break, this is BS! if you don’t like it then shut up and let other people enjoy it. No need to make stupid criticisms. I’m sure these people work hard to bring entertainment and help maintain our culture.
Ditto Tommy Nguyen # 23. Let’s see if the reviewer can put up a show better than that of Asia and then he can criticize their show all he wants. I frankly love Asia for the fact that they play old music, it brings me back to my childhood in Vietnam when I love to listen to music from overseas even though it was forbidden by the communist regime. And I was born waaaaaay after the war, not an “old” person by any mean. Those “old” singers have much more class and singing skills than the bikini models they have parading on Thuy Nga Paris By Night’s stage.
