Donny, just dont buy those karaoke systems from VN, I would say 80% of those songs are not singable. They add them in to meet the 10000 songs quota.

i would try to find him some "nhạc tiền chiến" complilation karaoke as i find the lyrics written during that time have a poetic sensibility and rich in meaning yet the music is both easy to sing and listen. the music they make these days are just as forgetable as their english pop counterparts. also, it's probably not good to have him learn songs like Duy Mạnh's 'Ta Đâu Có Say' that he might live out.

Joseph, I guess that’s a great way to learn Vietnamese. Thinking of getting one for my brother-in-law so he could learn Vietnamese as well. Any recommendation?
