Le Anh Quan – Mot Giay Phut Thoi
As if Mai Thanh Son, Doan Phi, Tuong Nguyen, Tuong Khue and Cardin aren’t wimpy enough, Asia Entertainment added Le Anh Quan, another baby-boy voice, to its male roster. His debut Mot Giay Phut Thoi is a typical Asia’s cookie cutter. Le Anh Quan covers Asia’s songs that have been sung to death like Truc Ho’s “Con Mua Ha” and “Neu Khong Co Em,” Vu Tuan Duc’s “Tinh Da Vut Bay” and “Trang Ua Sao Mo,” and Sy Dan’s “Ngay Vui Nam Ay.” Vocally and instrumentally, none of these tracks stands out. Le Anh Quan’s weak voice and static delivery bring nothing new to the unimaginative productions. Come on Truc Ho, slow down, put some effort into your work and stop releasing these dreadful music.
Surprisingly, I even enjoyed Mai Tien Dung from PBN, debut cd much more over this, it was actually very catchy. Le Anh Quan’s voice isn’t that bad, but these songs bored me to sleep.
Truc Ho has this obsessiveness to recreate anything that he finds good, that means picking singers that are all alike and reusing old songs to death.

Mai Tien Dung’s album was god awful. His singing is flat and the song selection was even flatter. Even a state born kid like me had to cringe over the lyrics in his album.
@Donny
“Ngay Vui Nam Ay” I believe is translated by Ngoc Lan, not a song by Sy Dan. I agree with you that LAQ singing is very static, even Mai Thanh Son has a bit of an edge
le anh quan’s album has many good songs; however, his redentions are fully flat in delivery. my most fave con mua ha’s versions r by lam thuy van & don ho. this album sinfully recycles too many good songs that were covered by other asia’s artists. out of the young male singers from asia, quoc khanh outshines the rest even though i’m not a big fan of his songs. at least le anh quan tried & hopefully his next album will be better.
as for mai tien dung, i like him as a fun & energetic performer, but his album isn’t impressive to me. his soft voice suits better w/ pop songs such as “chuyen chang co don” & “bay cung tinh yeu (my most fave song from him).” i appreciate his creativity in experimenting w/ r&b, but his voice is too weak for that type of music. also, i like his puppy image (bangs & glasses) better from the pbn’s talent shows. his new tough image with mohawk is inconsistent w/ his soft voice. at least he has many new songs in his album, but i only like “nhu van con day” & the 1 that he sings w/ diem suong. i hope his next album will be better.
