D. J. R. Bruckner: Frederic Goudy

I have read biography of Frederic Goudy before, but not with the critical analysis that Bruckner brought to Goudy’s work. Goudy was a typographer first before he became one of the most prolific type designers in the world. Goudy had designed more than a hundred typefaces. He was outspoken on type and typography. He was tough on other type designers. Bruckner has done an excellent job of weaving Goudy’s boisterous personality with his creative output. The big, beautiful illustrations make it a satisfying read for type nerds.
